Mark Wermerskirchen
Wermerskirchen Law Office, P.A.
For more than 30 years, Mark Wermerskirchen has dedicated his practice to issues affecting the elderly and their families, with special attention given to Veterans and benefits available to them.
At Wermerskirchen Law Office, P.A., we spend the majority of our time working on Elder Law and Estate Planning issues in order to assist the aging and their families. We act as your personal advocate guiding you and your family through the sometimes overwhelming and often times confusing legal issues surrounding estate planning, Medicare, Medical Assistance (Medicaid), Veterans benefits, disability planning, long-term care, and much more. I have helped families throughout the State of Minnesota become eligible for programs that will assist with paying for home care, assisted living and nursing home related expenses. In some cases, family members are allowed to be compensated for the services provided to their parents or other elderly individuals.
I can help you develop a plan for paying for long-term care costs or becoming eligible for government benefits that will assist you in paying for long-term and nursing home costs, as well as assisting you with all of your estate planning needs. I also can help you evaluate long-term care insurance policies and prepare powers of attorney, health care directives, wills and trusts. If your personal situation deems it necessary, I can assist you in estate and probate administration.

About Me
Mark has presented numerous seminars in West Central Minnesota to community and advocacy groups on estate planning, elder law and Medical Assistance issues. Every year from 2016-2024, Mark has been selected as a Minnesota Super Lawyer in the area of Elder Law as compiled by Thomson Reuters. Being named a Minnesota Super Lawyer is a distinction bestowed on less than 5% of the attorneys in the state. Super Lawyers uses a patented, rigorous selection process to recognize lawyers who have distinguished themselves in their practice area.
Mark did his undergraduate study at St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and received his Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1988. He has been admitted to practice in Minnesota and the U.S. District Court since 1988.
Mark is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Medical Assistance Committee for the Minnesota State Bar Association and was elected to serve two terms on the Elder Law Governing Council of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He is also a member of the National Care Planning Council, the Twelfth Judicial District Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Kandiyohi County Bar Association, where he served as president in 1993.
